Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes perfect sense! The S type flange is easy to fit and avoids pump cavitation and excess noise caused by aerated water drawn from the top of a hot water cylinder. The pump needs to be protected to ensure long service life, so don't skimp on a few pence when spending your hard earned cash on hot water boost pump solutions. Solved my issues in a jiffy! Well worth every penny.

Cylinder fitting

Can this flange be orientated to fit a male 22mm fitting on the top of the cylinder

Hi. Unfortunately you would not be able to fit this to a 22mm thread as it comes with a 1" BSP with a male or female adaptor. Hope this makes sense. Many thanks. Stephen

Surrey Flange

I want to fit an s-type surrey flange outlet to my indirect vented combination cylinder as a primary draw-off to my shower. Usually they fit into the top of a standard cylinder but in this case it would be to the side. Any problems with this? Thanks

Didn't think you could fit an Essex flange or anything else to a combination tank, I know you can't fit a pump to them.

Has anyone had problems with reduced flow through blockage/debris?

Just replaced existing Grundfoss shower pump. Pressure on hot side seems less. Starts off good then reduces by a third. Do these flanges block up easily?

Hi, If there are any blockages or restrictions then you may experience reduced flow, however it rare that you would see a blockage within a flange. Regards Salamander

Do I need to change the plumbing?

I'm planning to retrofit an S flange. This will raise the outlet position of the main feed from the cylinder. Will I need to split the vertical feed so as to keep the tank outlet from having a fall from tank to T? If so by how much? Thanks
