Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good whilst it lasted A very nice bulb whilst it lasted. Stopped working after only 10 months and only a few hundred hours use. A shorter life than any halogen bulb but more than ten times the price. When I wrote to Philips about this their response was that they didn't sell this bulb to consumers and weren't going to stand behind their 15,000 hour lifetime statement. So take the stated lifetime with a big pinch of salt and buy it at your wallet's peril.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fittings not in the middle..! I'm imagining myself in the Philips design lab, and they have a light-bulb, and it's looking Ok, but somehow it's not quite cool enough, so then the department of cool whacky ideas says - instead of being all conventional and putting the fittings in the centre, let's offset them a bit... The thing is way fatter than a regular bulb already. Just so happens that mine had to fit inside a tube, which would have been just big enough if the fittings were in the middle..! Didn't find out till after opening it either, so bit cross here, otherwise it's probably a fine lightbulb...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great in floodlight I'm using this in a floodlight which illuminates the front of our block of apartments. I'm amazed at the power considering it is only 14w. The warm white compliments the cream render. I'll just wait for the other flood light bulb to bust then I'll replace it with another LED one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High hopes for small lamp Trialled as a replacement for a 160w halogen R7 which was on most of the day. Had high hopes for this rather expensive lamp and hoped the new technology would live up to its billed 15 year life cycle. It was initially quite good but unfortunately lasted less than 6 months. Have reverted to halogen for now.

what voltage is the led lamp i’m looking for a 120v version

Asked by: BoyesJensen

Does it work with PIR

Many LEDs are temperamental when having other electronics like dimmer switches and other controls. Does anyone know if these can be used in PIR fittings without compromising life expectancy or warranty?
Asked by: Led9

My light fitting has a dimmer facility but can I use this type of lamp on full power or would I have to bypass the rheostat (if that's what you call it).thanks.

Asked by: Rhythm

When will you be stocking the 4000k version of this Linear LED Lamp

The 4000k version of this Philips Linear LED lamp is a closer fit with the colour temperature of the original Linear Halogen this LED is intended to replace. A 2700k lamp produces a warm light - the original halogen produces a white light.
