Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bench Grinder Read the reviews first this helped to chose the Mac Allister Bench Grinder. Happy with the choice as the Bench grinder does exactly as brochure and reviews state.. Looks good, Slightly out of balance on start up with a rubble that goes when speed is reached. Safety feature are included (eye shields) water proof cover over on off switch a good feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grinder For normal DIY application this is exceptionaly good value. Slow start up but that’s not really important.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap but use gently I’ve edged a few chisels on this with good success but the last one I purchased got very hot so I would suggest use gently and for short periods. The wheels are ok but a little wobbly. Overall a good diy product and well worth fitting the plastic guards for safety as they work very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit Excellent value for money and a versatile machine . The motor is fairly quiet to machines I have used in the past . versatile functions for my hobby collecting watches . This will save me a lot of money as a buffer/polisher refurbishing my old watches . It costs a bomb at a jewellers/ watch maker . I am very happy with my purchase an think it's good value for the money , I recommend I t !

Hello. I have a couple of axes for cutting wood. One is a 5 inch (13cm) blade which I use for splitting logs. The other is a 3 inch (7.5cm) blade which I use for cutting kindling sticks. Is this grinder man enough for sharpening the edges of my two axes?T

Asked by: Bodgejobber
Hi Bodgejobber, This is a 150w grinder and may lack power for this task, although it will do it but would take longer as lighter pressure would need to be applied. Personally, my experience of replacing a 350w grinder with a 150w one (mainly only used for sharpening drill bits and HSS lathe tools) was that the higher wattage grinder was better. Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT
