Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but those screws! Quality seems fine, excellent price, only downside for me is the screws for securing the wires they are very small and the dual posi/slot heads are not the best with either a posi or flat driver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value for the money. I have fitted alot of security lights and this one is a favourite of mine, however recently I've had to replace a few within its 1 year guarantee as they have failed due to water damage.

Dim light

Had an electrician fit this light for me in December and it has worked perfectly until this week. It does still come on but now gives off very little light it doesn't even illuminate the yard and I am having to use a torch. Could it be a setting?

My experience with Screwfix led flood lamps is not good to say the least what are the requirements to gain the 3 year warranty? Thanks

Asked by: Peter6891
Hello, The warranty requirements are that the fault is covered under the warranty, that the item has been installed and used as per manufactures instructions, that the item is still within the warranty period and that you retain your invoice/receipt/proof of purchase. If you email into online@screwfix.com with a description of the fault you are experiencing and images of how/where the item is installed we can assist further. Thanks for using Q&A. [DG]

This product looks identical to something I'm trying to replace from a company I'm not allowed to mention but you are owned by the same company.... are they same if so shocking didnt last 6months

Asked by: TobyPops
Hello, We cant say for certain if this light and the light you have is the same/similar as we have no way if known which light it is that you actually have. LAP is a Screwfix own brand, but is also sold by our sister company B&Q. Is this where you purchased your light from? If so it could be the same light. The light should definitely last more than 6 months. If yours has failed within this time frame It might be worth checking the below: 1.) What cable are you using? Round 3 core cable must be used to connect this light. If flat/wtin and earth is used then the cable entry point wont seal properly and water can get it. 2.) Do you have a drip loop? If the cable is entering the light from above then water can travel down the cable and into the entry point. Run a cable loop below the light to prevent this from happening. 3.) Where is the light installed? This light is rated IP44, which is splash proof. If its installed somewhere that gets particular wet (like under a leaky gutter) then water might get in eventually. If this is the case look for floodlights that are rated higher (IP65 OR IP66). 4.) Have you maintained the light? As with most electrical goods there is a certain amount of maintenance that is required to keep the light in good working condition. For floodlights its a good idea to apply a water displacing oil (like wd40) over the body of the light to increase water tightness and maintain rubber seals etc. Thanks for using Q&A. [DG]

Lux Setting Clarrification

Instructions on page 6 settings for the Lux. Top diagram is for daytime setting so lamp off? Middle diagram show selector switch for nighttime setting? Bottmom diagram shows both day and night when fully wound to right hand setting? Please explain?
Asked by: redduster
Hello redduster, The top diagram is for when the setting is wound all the way to the left and shows what happens when someone in the day approaches the light. The middle shows the same situation but at night and the lamp triggering. This is because the left hand setting is for when there is almost zero light or lux. The third image is for when the dial is wound all the way to the right showing it will operate when there is any mount of lux or light meaning it will come on during the day as well as the night. Thank you for using Q&A

How long is flex

Asked by: Steveytom1
Hello Steveytom1, This product does not come with a cable. You need to make sure the cable being used is round and has a diameter of at least 6mm to ensure the glands do not let water in at the back. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A. A.K.C.
