Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy little things Perfect for repairs to kitchen cabinet carcass hinge mountings, or any other 6mm screw holes that have pulled out. Nice and cheap, but look cheap, but are more than adequate for the job

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy I use these to repair damaged hinge fixing holes in kitchen units and some furniture. They provide a decent fixing for a (short) M6 bolt

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Insert with care Great product. I used them to fix table legs so I remove them for storage. Found that when screwing into the very hard wood of the table top using an allen key the torque required was too great and the top of the inserts were splitting. Overcame the problem by using a short M6 hex bolt as a setting tool rather than an allen key and it worked a treat.

Would it be advisable to glue these? If so would you use PVA, wood glue, CA glue? My table top is soft wood. Thanks

What length of bolt do I need please?

Asked by: yogibear76
Hello yogibear76, The M6 relates to the internal thread so you need a 6mm bolt. The length will vary depends on what job your doing and how long you need the bolt for your set up. Thank you for using Q&A.

Will I be able to use a 5mm screw with these?

I am planning to use these with corner brackets that have a 5mm drilled hole (no 6mm available on the website). Will I be able to use 5mm screws with these insert nuts? Or am I going to have to drill out the holes in the brackets?
Asked by: Vajo
You will have to use 6mm bolts and drill the bracket holes

How thin can the material be to still grip?

Asked by: Kranist
Hello Kranist, Without knowing the exact type and density of the material involved we would recommend a minimum thickness of 18mm as you would not want the nut to burst through the back of the board. Thank you for using Q&A
