Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Easy to install, looks good my old system was a Honeywell and it broke after about 15years I was able to change to this system in about one hour .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Accurate and resilient Once the room is up to temperature, this stat consistently maintains +/- 0.5c setpoint, which is impressive for a consumer grade stat, and a huge improvement on the older mechanical models such as the T6360. When paired with the RFG100 gateway, you can transform this simple thermostat into a fully programmable 7 day schedule, creating up to 6 set-point times for each day. This is easily configured via Honeywell’s mobile app, or their online portal using a standard internet browser. This means you can also manually alter the set point when away from home. What I particularly like about this stat is how it continues to work to your pre-configured schedule, and allows you to manually increase/decrease setpoint even if your own Internet connectivity fails, or Honeywell’s cloud services are down, whereas many competitor products simply revert to a “basic stat”. That being said, over the four years I’ve been using this service, availability of Honeywell’s online system has been >99.8%, and the majority of the downtime has been planned maintenance, notified in advance, and only lasted a couple of hours at a time. “Smart” or “Cloud” based services can and will go down from time to time, as can your own Internet connection at home, so it’s important to understand how your device will function, if at all, when this happens. If this is unacceptable for your needs, you should consider whether you are ready for the switch from a conventional “non-connected” programmer to a smart device.

Underfloor heating attempt 2

Could this be used to control an underfloor heating actuator like the Honeywell MT4 230 NC directly or would it need to go through a control centre? Honeywell, don't say you don't make actuators when I know you do. I gave you your own part number!
Asked by: Steelfoot
The Single Zone thermostat can not be connected directly to a MT4 230 NC actuator. Since it is a wireless thermostat, it needs something to control the switching for the thermal actuator. Depending on the system and the setup that you have, it can be done through a BDR91 or a HCC80 underfloor heating controller. A heating engineer should be contacted in this case.

Optimum Start function?

Does this thermostat provide an Optimum start function (like the old CM67 does)?
Asked by: ZetlandPaul
No, the connected Y87RF Single Zone Thermostat does not have the optimum start/stop feature enabled and there is no option to select it.

I have an ideal boiler,, do I just buy this and set it up or do I need other stuff for it?

Asked by: Mickmc80
The Y87RF2024 Single-Zone thermostat kit contains a thermostat and a relay box which is used to switch the boiler on and off. The Y87RF Single-Zone Thermostat as a standalone device is a non-programmable wireless digital room thermostat. The outer ring is the control dial, a simple twist of the dial will adjust the temperature set point up or down. It can however be bound to the RFG100 Gateway and a heating schedule can be created by using the TCC application thus making the device a programmable thermostat. Without the RFG100 Gateway, it would be expected for the Y87RF Single Zone Thermostat to be fitted along with a programmer to enable time scheduling. The Y87RF thermostat will work with both Combination and System Boilers, Oil and Gas. It can be used with basic boilers and also boilers with OpenTherm control with the addition of the OpenTherm module R8810A1018. However, we advise contacting the boiler manufacture or a qualified engineer to advise on compatibility and installation.
