Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used to connect rads First time I've used push fits, old school and used copper uptil now. Used these to connect rads to 10mm micro bore. Use a copper olive and nut on the spigot to connect to the rad and simply push the micro bore into the other end (don't forget the insert into the end of the pipe). Simple, no fuss. Can't attest to reliability of joint yet as only just fitted. Certainly simpler than copper.

I have used these on all my rads in the house and most have had to be replaced as leaking from the stems where the olive doesn’t seem to seal. I can understand you get an odd one leak but not as many as I have had, any clues as to why?

Asked by: Billywhizz44
Hi there, When we have come across this problem in the past, It is usually due to the olives in the compression fitting, more than likely being made of brass. Some brass olives are exceptional hard and don’t crush onto the spigot of the Hep2o fitting very well. If this is the case then the simple answer is to use the copper olives which are a lot softer and grip onto the spigot better. Also we always advise some PTFE tape is used over top of the olive before the nut is tightened. The majority of these leaks is the seal between the olive and the brass valve, rather than the olive and spigot. I hope this helps. If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Regards The team at Hep2O

Can this fitting be used on a radiator valve, being inserted into the valve and sealed with the nut and ring if this makes sense?
