Rated 4 out of 5 by from One year on Easy to install as long as you have a good wifi signal,feels like you are opening an apple phone with the packaging, good long cable clear picture. Installed higher than reccomend as I felt that someone could literally grab it. Good features on the app so you can set a zone you want covered for notifications also sound and you can also talk through the camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but don't get too excited OK it does its job . . . . Slightly disappointed. Magnetic fixing, dead easy to put up. Dead easy to steal. You might be able to use superglue? The plug on the wire means you need a 22mm hole in your wall to get it through. (its not a water pipe, Nest) Doesn't do face recognition, but it does do 'person recognition' very well Review of video footage history with 'google nest aware' is excellent, really easy to find events & persons. Night vision is bright & clear. Alerts are slow, up to 15s, then calling up the video on your iPhone another 15s means you'll miss the event in real-time, and you won't be able to have a conversation. (too slow) But you can rewind the video to see what the alert was for. But the delivery man that triggered the alert will be gone by now. At least you know he left a card. It's still better than Y-Cam & ESP.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stay Away I bought this camera and though I'd wait to review it. It undoubtedly is reliable and the build quality is good. It did perform well until the free trial session ended. All you are left with is a live picture and emails of photos of movements that it has picked up The description tells you what you get with a subscription to Nest but not what you are left with if you choose not to subscribe. I was planning to buy another for the rear of the property but have found a system with 4 cameras and a hub for less than the price of 2 of these, and no subscription!

Will it work on WiFi that is 5 ghz ??

The Nest Wifi network has both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands and it uses the same network name. Both radio bands are active simultaneously and it will attempt to select the band that will deliver the best performance for your device.

Absolutely, you can use multiple mobile devices with the Nest app to access your cameras. You can also access the web app on a browser from a computer by going to home.nest.com

I need a camera for my mum she is house bound and can not walk i live quite far away so i need a camera to be able to connect to my iPhone so i can see that she is ok 24hrs and speak clearly to her and also sometimes i need to record

please could you let me know what one would be the best to see her and talk to her, will need to be able to move camera so i can look all over the room

Both the Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam IQ Indoor can provide most of the features you need including recording of videos. The Nest Cam IQ Indoor comes with a Supersight feature that switches on and automatically zooms in and tracks when it detects a person. Both Nest cameras also come with a 130° diagonal wide–angle view sensor for a wider view. They also have "Talk and Listen" feature that lets you talk to people with your camera even when you're away from home.
