FloPlast Push-Fit Waste Knuckle Bend White 90° 40mm (18679)

Made from polypropylene, this is a quick and easy way to install waste systems incorporating a push-fit ring seal system. Fits most standard size waste pipes (excluding solvent weld waste). An allowance of a 10mm expansion gap on all push-fit joints is required for the expansion of pipes and fittings in each socket of push-fit systems. Requires no solvent welding or tightening.

Why doesn't 40mm floplast pipe fit 40 mming floplast fittings push fit

There are two different waste systems, push fit and solvent weld which although both sold as 40mm are slightly different sizes as determined by the British Standards. 40mm push fit is actually 41mm and 40mm solvent is actually 43mm. If the pipe that you have has WS02 or ABS printed on it then this will be for the solvent system. You will need a pipe marked with WP02 or PP.

Can solvent be used on this connection?

Would like to use solvent if it would decrease the likelihood of leaks.

No, you cannot use solvent cement on the push fit system.
