Rated 5 out of 5 by from BG 13A RCD switch fuse spur Excellent value! Works as it should. Seems robust. Metal clad, ideal for shed or garage use. Reliability is unknown as its only been installed for 2 days and ok so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job The device does the job as described. I had a problem with the first one as LED not working, although otherwise still working. Have a replacement, which I just need to get fitted so that can return faulty one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very goood RCD This device represents good value for money. The only criticism is metal box needs to be a bit deeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price Good quality product adding that extra layer of safety to outbuilding. No complaints does the job really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product and Great Value Very sturdy product at a good price. Back box has the usual selection of knock outs but you can also route the load through the front plate fits which fits nice and tight. A couple of the terminal screws are a little out of line with the surrounding plastic as is often the case but overall this is an excellent product for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Quality Easy to fit in my attic to protect bathroom vanity light. Good instructions and works well - even had a power cut of a few seconds recently and unit stayed latched, so no resetting required. Only had it a month so reliability cannot be guaranteed, but I believe it will be good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Fused RCD Spur The device does the job as described. I had a problem with the first one not working but screwfix replaced it with no quibble. I'm pleased with the item and now have a fully protected outdoor circuit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality item at a budget price Does what it says on the tin. Good quality feel to this product. Terminals could do with being a tad larger. Even comes individually bagged. 9/10

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value Bought these to replace an existing (and brand new) RCD fused spur whose fuse carrier had jammed shut. This was a third of the price and hasn't been problem yet. The dimples on the knockouts are very useful, giving somewhere to rest the tip of your screwdriver before whacking it with a hammer. The reset button is a little shaky - you have to push & release slowly otherwise it doesn't 'catch'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made and good value As I have come to expect from the BG range. A well made good value product that met everything I wanted it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used in a factory Had to RCD protect two lighting circuits that were fed from an obsolete fuseboard in a factory. Fitted one for each circuit on the metal trunking above. Much cheaper than buying individual RCD's and fitting them in an enclosure. Easy to test and don't need resetting if the power fails. Knockouts were a little harder than MK's to get out though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed Great value I thought but when 4 out of 13 fitted failed when first powered up with the same open neutral fault. Disoppointed with this BG product. I read some reviews before hand and thought they cannot be that bad...Wrong
Date published: 2017-01-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small Back Box The RCD itself uses most of the back box volume leaving little space for the connecting circuit and load wires. Top and bottom knock outs on the back box don't have enough internal clearance for the thread and nut of a conduit adaptor, and a top or bottom wire connection would be impossible. Not managed to install yet due to the above so cannot rate performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device for U/F Heating Second one I have used for underfloor heating systems. A great way to protect yourself and the system itself. Great little device and well worth the time for installing it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy unit Only just installed this unit, was simple enough. Very sturdy and good quality.

Bathroom safe

Hi, was just wondering if this is safe to be used to install an electric towel rail (in the bathroom)
Asked by: Dadman09
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This British General 13A Fused Spur Metal-Clad is rated to IP20, so can only legally be installed outside of bathroom zones 0, 1 and 2 and in fact we would advise not installing in any environment which is overly moist on a regular basis as this could lead to early component degradation.

Is this double pole

Asked by: Daveheating
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. All British General Fused Connection Units (Spurs) have switches which are Double Pole type.
