Rated 3 out of 5 by from Usense It’s a good product, good quality and works well, however there is a but though..... the connection from the wireless thermostat to the hub (boiler controller) needs to be hard wired which took me by surprise and added cost for getting the item wired in. Smart phone or pad to thermostat is wireless but not stat to hub.. so be warned. It’s a shame this as nearly all smart systems are totally wireless meaning you can have the stat anywhere you desire but in my case I had to fit the stat somewhere that I could wire up the link to the main hub next to the boiler.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product/teething problems Recently bought this during a complete overhaul of the pantry. Pros: it has never missed a beat and was easy to set up. Very affordable and has actually saved me a pretty penny in heating bills. Cons: no child safety features, I have come home from the garden centre on three separate occasions to find that my grandson had adjusted the temperature, resulting in my wellington boots melting to kitchen tiles and in this sort of humidity my meringues will not set.

Hi, is this compatible with a baxi combi 105 HE boiler please, thankyou

Good Afternoon Itsliam, the Baxi 105HE is an older generation boiler, and due to this does not have open therm technology which is what is required for the uSense Smart Room Thermostat to be used to the best of its ability. Compatibility

So this will work with a Baxi 836 combi! Does this need an ethernet cable between any part and where could the hub be mounted?

Good Morning McClintock, yes this is compatible with the Baxi 836 combi boiler. The uSense utilises a gateway which should be positioned either close to the boiler or the control system junction box. The uSense itself to be positioned taking into consideration the enclosed factors such as: on an external wall, away from draughts, not behind doors, bookshelves etc, 1.2 - 1.5m from the floor, not in direct sunlight, in a room where the user spends most of their time, away from heat sources, the maximum cable length from the gateway to the room unit is 50m. Fitting

Will this equipment need to be fitted by a qualified plumber/electrician when replacing an already wired thermostat or is it easy to do without a trades person

Is this compatible with

Baxi Platinum 32 System boiler please. Also does it have to be hard wired in to the thermostat via the boiler.

Good Morning TonyStew, the Baxi uSense is compatible with combination boilers only, such as the Baxi 600, 800 & Platinum 40+ Combi as it controls the heating side only, not heating and hot water like you would need for the Platinum 32 system boiler. Kind Regards Paul at Baxi
