Rated 5 out of 5 by from House alarms These are direct replacements, the first lot had time expired, and had started to beep. They were 10 years old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and easy to install Just recently bought a house and the heat / smoke alarms were all out of date by 3 years and one Of the three in the house was beeping constantly. Removed alarms and typed model into the search engine and found Screwfix still sell the exact ones. Really simple to replace as base plates are the same 10years on so No wiring needed at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy replacement These detectors must be replaced every 10 years; fortunately AICO still make them to fit the same Easi-fit base so this time it was just a question prodding the release clip with a screwdriver, sliding the detector off its base and sliding the replacement one on. Comes with a 9v backup battery and sticker to be placed near the consumer unit showing expiry date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heat Detector Replacement Had previous model fitted as part of our refurbishment in 2009. New improved (RC) unit a straight swap as they use the same baseplate. Great peace of mind with reliable heat/fire detectors.

replace aico 141 smoke alarm

Is it possible to replace a Aico i41 smoke detector with a FI144RC heat alarm using the same base
Asked by: moname
Good morning, The base plate design is the same throughout all Aico mains powered alarms. Please note, however, that the Ei144RC is a heat alarm and is only suitable for a kitchen.

Advice - alarm keeps going off

I have this heat alarm and the 230V Ionisation Smoke Alarm Ei141RC. Every time the oven is on, even though the door between the two is closed the alarms go off. This happens even without any smoke. Please advise.
Asked by: Stephsyyy
This is potentially due to the Ionisation alarm picking up cooking fumes, in this case replace the EI141RC/s with the Ei146RC Optical alarm. It could also be that the Heat alarm is too close to the oven, in which case it will need to be moved further away.

Does this item wire direct into the back of the alarm or does it have a connector block that then requires a junction box?

Asked by: Hencam
Good morning, the supplied base plate acts as a connector block which you can wire directly into. A junction box may be used if required.

Asked by: Amoeba24
Good Morning the alarm may need its battery changing, the battery you will need is a 9v Duracell battery.
