Rated 5 out of 5 by Canny good These plasterboard plugs are spot on. They are solid in the walls. 16 Sep 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hopless These are rubbish! When you start to screw them into plasterboard, the drill end snaps off and blocks you from pushing in any further. Best off drilling a hole first which defeats the object. 1 Aug 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Weak, poorly made rubbish. I bought a pack of these for use in my house. They are rubbish! When you start to screw them into plasterboard, you get 2 or 3 turns before the drill end snaps off and blocks you from pushing in any further. You then have to pull out the bit remaining outside the plasterboard and bang the cutting bit through the board with a screwdriver before putting the screw thread bit back in the hole. If you then try to screw that bit in, it just digs a big hole but doesn't actually grip. Buy the Rawlplug ones instead, they're made from thicker metal and cut straight in without issue. 2 Jul 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by doing the job wall fixings! Does what it says in the title, keeping things up (nothings fallen as yet!) 6 Jun 2016

Thanks for the question. These self drill fixings will only take up to 8kilos. They are for lightweight use for small lights and switches. For the best loads, up to 25kgs/fixing, use the HM6 into 12.5mm plasterboard

Answer:
Whatever screw you use, I've found it best to drive the screw into the fixing before you install the fixing (and then remove it of course). This cuts a thread in the fixing and makes it easier to drive the screw in once the fixing is in place.
