Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good closed couple kit Used product before and been great, this time sadly doughnut too big for existing system, but that was my fault for not checking

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved a flooded floor! Having had to work on the cistern I reassembled the cistern to the pan reusing the old coupler - big mistake because for the next 4 days the water dripped and drizzled because the doughnut shaped sealing ring was flattened and damaged. I then found Screwfix supply a universal coupler which solved the problem immediately. For such a small price it saved a lot of distress.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from WC close couple kit Very poor quality product that bends when tightened, causing leaks. After 3 attempts used same old rusty one that didn't bend at all not did it leak. As good as throwing your money down the pan!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This Part The metal plate is far too thin to apply any pressure to the rubber 'doughnut,' which is far too hard, without buckling. The supplied washers are too small to cover the mounting holes in most pans. The cumulative effect is to preclude anything like a decent seal between cistern and pan. I shall be forced to return this and buy a decent one. SCREWFIX, PLEASE STOCK A DECENT KIT......!

My close coupled cistern and pan are held together by 2 bolts which go through the base of the cistern then through the pan and do up with wing nuts -the 2 SQUARE headed bolts go through a DOMED rubber washer to a small nut underneath then onto wing nut and metal washer . IT leaks water one side .So where can I get these special NUT BOLTS And DOMED Washers????. Screw fix?? Have now dismantled ,cleaned, and smothered in silicon glue, and refitted - No more leaks to date !!

Answer:
The external daimeter of a 1 1/2 inch BSP pipe is supposed to be 47.803mm (according to Wikipedia). All the Close Coupling Kits I have seen so far (including this one) have holes 47mm or so in diameter and should fit a 1 1/2 inch BSP flush valve. If you have a 2 inch BSP flush valve (like a Dudley Niagara, as sold by Screwfix, B&Q etc) and you need a Close Coupling Kit, you will need one with a 60mm hole in the plate (as *not* sold by ScrewFix, B&Q, Plumb Centre...)

Hi , probably to late for you now but its an 1 1/2 inch hole in the clamping plate. Which would have been handy to know before I bought one for a 2 inch siphon , doh :-)
