Needed to replace brass letterflap which had become tarnished, and changed material to match new Yale lock. Closer examination of internal edges show not as polished as the faces and grinding marks visible.
Don't suppose postie is going to be too bothered. Also slightly larger flap than original so have to carve the door a bit more.

Although heavy and highly polished (outside) the inside is rough cast and untidy so you will need something on the inside to cover it such as a brush or internal flap.
My problem was the chrome work was pitted and missing along the top edge which was highly visible.
So check it before you leave save yourself two journeys.

Bought one of these letter plates without reading the reviews and got the thing home to find the finish is just awful. Inner edge of opening really poor with deep grind marks all around and the chrome plating was really patchy. Returned it to the trade counter to exchange and everyone we looked at was the same. Very poor. Had refund and purchased a properly finish item for similar money else where. Not to Screwfix usual standard.

Good solid construction together with a strong spring (all important)
