Titan TTB521GRB 200mm Bench Grinder 240V
A lot of machine for the money the wheels alone are worth the price and a bonus of a wire wheel made it an exceptional buy.

The wheels run terribly out of true, and the body where the on/off switch is,is not very stong. The metal base plate which covers the electrics on the underneath is badley made.

titan bench grinder
I got this to replace a 6" 150w bench grinder that had broken. glad I went for this bigger more powerful model as I can feel the power difference while in use. seems to do a better job than my old one and makes a good job of sharpening all my tools, chisels, gouges, axe, etc. quite heavy and solid, comes with standard eye shields and tool rests, light is an extra that could be useful if your workshop is dark, not dazzling though.
for the money I think this model is a bargain, hopefully it will last, has a 2 year guarantee !

The old adage "you get what you pay for" is certainly true. With this grinder you are getting a 400 watt 8 inch machine for about half the cost of a decent quality grinding wheel. If you want a quality grinder expect to pay at least 4 times the price possibly a lot more.
I needed a grinder for grinding metal cutting tools for my lathe and therefore considered this unit (based on previous reviews) would be adequate.
As delivered this grinder had a lot of vibration due to out of balance and badly fitting wheels. I skimmed of some high spots on one of the wheel support and trued up both wheels using a diamond wheel dresser and although not perfect it now runs with an acceptable level of vibration.
In common with all lower priced bench grinders the tools rest are very flimsy and not really up to the job. I have fitted a professional sliding tool rest which makes usability so much better.
The other point to note is that the perspex eye shields are way too small to be of much use. I will probably replace these but in any case a bench grinder should never be operated without personal eye protection being worn.
Its far too early to comment on reliability but as it comes with a two year warranty you cant really complain. From experience I would suggest the most likely failure point of any cheap grinder is likely to be the bearings but these are usually easily replaced by quality units at little cost so I am expecting that for my limited and light usage that the machine will be fine.
