Rated 1 out of 5 by Damp patch all sorted Damp patch appeared on wallpaper due to external leak. Needed to redecorate in a hurry but couldn't get a builder to sort the leak in time, so bought a tin of Thompson's One Coat Damp Paint. next day – patch sealed nicely and able to redecorate straight away. Brilliant product! 21 Jul 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does Exactly What it Claims Very happy with the product. Only one cost needed to cover the stain completely, and so far no reappearance at all. Was able to decorate later teh same day. 16 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant with a roller Thompson's advised not using a roller with their One Coat Damp Seal as it was difficult to clean afterwards, though,I didn't mind throwing the roller sleeve in the bin if it cut down on painting time. I can report that this Damp Seal worked well using a roller, completely covering a magnolia colour with just one coat.(It may take 2 coats if covering a darker shade). My advice is to buy a roller which comes with spare sleeves and it will save a good deal of time. The One Coat Damp Seal?, Brilliant !!! 17 Jun 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good product This damp seal paint works very well. I used it on a wall which is over 200 years old and am very impressed. It is very thick so a sturdy brush is required to paint it on but it feels more substantial than other damp seal paints that I have used. Screwfix service, both on the phone and in store, is exceptional. 30 Apr 2016

Thanks for your question, yes that is fine but the One Coat Damp Seal is a base coat so you will need to emulsion over afterwards, allow 4 hours before applying the emulsion.

Answer:
Thanks for your question. The One Coat Damp Seal will not prevent penetrating damp, it is used once a damp problem has been eradicated to prevent damp stains from spoiling subsequent decoration. Thompson's Water Seal could be used on the outside of the wall to achieve this provided the outer face of the wall is not painted.

Thanks for your question, yes that would be fine, it may however be wise to lightly abrade the Damp Seal with abrasive paper prior to hanging the wallpaper.

Hi thanks for your question, our One Coat Damp Seal is a permanent solution to the problem but it doesn't cure damp problems, it stops damp stains bleeding through and spoiling subsequent decoration. The source of damp should always be cured before using our Damp Seal.
