Rated 4 out of 5 by from Duff tube leaked & slow cure This stuff clearly works from reviews but it cures very slowly so not instant use if more than a couple of mm thick - I've used to sort out drainage problems and will be a few days before flush-proof. Also the tube I had was one of those badly made ones that leaked out of the back with way more getting all over the gun than the job and meaning what was left had to be binned. A sod of a job to clean this stuff up. Waste of money and hence poor reliability and value ratings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and Flexable The default adhesive and sealant for troublesome jobs. Plus's-Strong... Minus's-High viscosity make it not for location of high precision joint parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well in the wet I bought this to repair a few slates which had blown off in the wind. It was pouring down when i was fixing them and thought that it probably would not work. It held the slate firmly to the roof even with the wind and rain. One of them slipped slightly, but i think i put too much on, but really good gripping. Would certainly recommend for slate repairs.

Can this be used for sticking down felt shingles onto a t&g log cabin roof?

Asked by: Nick96
Felt products have a tendency to bleed out oils which can affect the adhesion and compatibility of many sealant and adhesive products including Geocel The Works. It is possible that the rate of oil bleed out will be low enough so that the adhesion of Geocel The Works will be maintained, however, it is also possible that the oils in the felt will cause gradual loss of adhesion of The Works.

what do you use to clean any excees sealant?

Thanks for your question. Once the sealant has cured removal is through mechanical methods only.

Would this product be suitable for sticking a glass splashback to a plastered wall

Asked by: simond123
Thanks for your question. Geocel Trade Mate Mirror Fix White 310ml (95057) is a better option for this task, the mirror should be supported for a minimum 24 hours after application but allow air to circulate around the edges to ensure the Mirror Fix cures.

hi could this be used to seal a fibreglass splitter to a plastic car bumper thanks

Asked by: chura999
Thanks for your question. The major issue with bonding to plastics is the lack of adhesion to polyethylene and polypropylene. However if these substrates are not involved then adhesion should not be a problem with The Works Sealant & Adhesive, so long as the recommended surface preparation and application procedure is followed, although it is always advisable to perform a test piece first.

How long does it take to set & would it be suitable for inside a toilet cistern?

Asked by: BaridonBabe
Thanks for your question. The cure rate for The Works Sealant & Adhesive is about 3mm per 24 hours though this is dependent on temperature and humidity conditions. How it would perform in a toilet cistern really depends on the application. The Works Sealant is not intended for long term immersion and as such we cannot guarantee good adhesion in such conditions. However if the purpose of the sealant was to form a gasket; perhaps mechanically fixed around a flush pipe, then we can imagine the sealant performing well.
