Reason for purchase - to replace a broken magnetic filter of another manufacturer; Two leaking isolation valves and one of the threaded connections snapped off in the brass coupling to the bottom valve.
Sentinel filter has quality valves coupling to large diameter stubs on filter body, so inherently stronger construction.
It uses both Cyclonic and Magnetic separation, so should pull most dirt particles out the system.
The drain lever assembly must be reversed before attempting to open drain valve.
As yet unable to ascertain its cleansing ability.

I used this unit recently and it looked fine out the box, although big for many cramped installs. The system was duly drained and pipe cut ready for the unit. Then the fun started. None of the supplied valves worked freely and the bowl was almost impossible to remove, even before install. Once in position turning the valves or removing the bowl was going to be almost impossible.
If the pipe hadn't already been cut it would have gone back at this point. If it's in a cramped space forget servicing in the future.
Also to dose the system with anything you drop the bowl and fill it with the inhibitor etc. Unlikely as its almost impossible to get off and you can only dose half a litre at a time... So for a litre you've got to run the system. Drain the bowl now you have heated everything up. Drop the bowl and repeat. Useless!
There are other products out there don't save £10.00 and make any install and service painful.
