Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value product Good value and simple to install and set up. Bought to replace an identical one installed about 15yrs ago so I'm hopeful that this will last as long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok but not great I bought this to control some lights to illuminate my garden path, my initial reaction on opening the box was pretty good, wiring up wasn't a problem, set the unit at 2metres as instructed, I found the cover catches were a little weak but do the job, the reason I gave it a lower rating is the range, I'm not sure where the 12metres comes from but I can almost touch the sensor before lights come on, the range nearer 12ft rather than 12meters. Unfortunately I'm well up the garden path long before the lights switch on. Ok but not great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced old PIR Needed to replace an old PIR which came with house over four years ago. This does the job perfectly. Range is good, as is light meter and timer. Very pleased with result.

I am connecting to unearthed LED light fittings, the Sensor will be earthed iaw the wiring diagram, I presume the PIR sensor will still function even though no earth from the LEDs, Am I correct?

Asked by: JFRT
Hello JFRT. As long as the standalone PIR is wired correct there is no problem connecting a Live and Neutral to your light. Thank you for using Q&A, [BH].

What is the minimum wattage for this product.

Most of these sensors need a minimum current draw to operate. We have some 10 year old similar sensors and when you put a LED bulb in it just flashes. I would like to replace to start using LEDs.
Asked by: TimCW
Hello TimCW, This product can be used with; 1000W incandescent, 500W fluorescent and a 50W LED equivalent. When changing to LED's you may also require LED Drivers, however this would need to be confirmed with a suitably qualified tradesperson. Thank you for using Q&A.

Does this unit work with mains LED bulbs?

Asked by: Norfolkbor
Hello Norfolkbor, In theory, yes this PIR is capable of switching LED lamps. However compatibility does depend somewhat on the lamp and light fitting, not just the PIR. If you take a look at the reviews and other Q&A you'll see most customers that have set the PIR up with LED lights have found it compatible, but it hasn't worked for everyone. Thanks for using Q&A
