Rated 3 out of 5Â by gardendesignerlandscaper good but not brilliant
this saw is very good at what it does, my only problem is the guard it gets in the way, so you cant cut thicker wood, it would be better if the guard moves out of the way earlier so you can cut 100mm thick wood

Rated 4 out of 5 SAW I NEEDED
Overall good value for money. Why would any one buy saw just for wooden stuff when you can get saw which can be used on both wooden and metal. DO recommend it. 50 quid you can not go wrong..

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Ramble Evolution chop saw great value
This is really excellent value for money. Used as part of a domestic decking project and performed very well. Easy to use and ready to go from the box.

Looking for a cheap mitre saw to finish a job.
Normally a big fan of Evolution.
Returned home from screw fix and removed the saw from the box to check all was present and correct. Examined it and noticed the mitre lock wasn't holding the base plate - straight back to screwfix. Came home with a second, took it out of the box examined and seemed okay.
Plugged it into to use and found out how badly thought out and built this saw really is;
1)Too much play at it's pull down pivot point to give accurate mitre cuts.
2)The mitre lock is badly designed and doesn't hold the swivel plate properly so it keeps moving around. Gets worse with use and can't tell if the lock is on or off.
3)Only a maximum of 45 degree angle on one side, because the position of the mitre lock interferes with the saw stopping it reaching full 45 degrees on the other side.
- A mitre saw that can't cut mitres?? Oh yeh,
that's a chop saw.
On the plus side, Srewfix service is excellent as usual. And no problems swapping for another (much better) saw.
