Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and features I've made do with cordless drills for more than a few years now, but when a tough job tank cutting holes in hard marine ply came up it was time to get something more powerful. Technically, with the size of hole being cut, this drill was underpowered too, but with the hammer setting and gentle handling it has managed the job and where possible I have preferred to use it for everything else since. I'm delighted with the value for money; the build is good and solid; and all the usual features are there. The only three minor faults I can think of, which it almost feels mean to raise given the price bracket, are: the lack of a two speed setting; lack of a carry case; and that the supplied HSS drills weren't able to handle stainless steel sheet. Too early to tell on the reliability front, but absolutely no reasons to doubt it so far. I'm looking forward to making lots of use of this drill in the year ahead...

The spec details say Energer Capacity Masonry 13 mm, Capacity Steel 10 mm, Capacity Wood 30mm. I don't understand what this means! surely it cannot mean the DEPTH of the hole - 13 mm drilling into masonry would be hopeless! Thanks.....

Asked by: Anonymous
It is the diameter of hole, this effects the torque, in percussion mode it should be fine with that size hole, but you may need to pilot drill it or have a descent drill bit. Steel bites a lot more then masonary I guess. But price should indicate how light duty it is.

Where can I buy extra drill bits for this drill?

Asked by: Ronnie12345
Hi Ronnie12345, As Dosedmonkey has suggested, this drill has a standard 13mm chuck and the large majority of our drill bits will fit no problem. If you need any help finding something specific give us a call on 03330 112 112 or email us - online@screwfix.com Thanks for using Q&A, KC

Drill into concrete wall

Hi Will this drill screws into a concrete wall to fix some shelving? Thanks
Asked by: Seanyyyyy
Hi Seanyyyyy, You can use standard masonry drill bits in this drill with to drill holes in concrete or masonry. You could then use the appropriate wall plugs and screws to fit the shelving. An alternative would be to use masonry screws. I hope this information is of help to you.

Does it have a hammer drill option?

Asked by: Greenfield
Hello Greenfield, This is a percussion drill which means that it has a hammer action/ hammer drill option. A hammer action means that the bit inserted into the drill rapidly moves a very small distance in and out to deliver a blow / impact to the material being drilled. Thank you for using Q and A.
