Handy tool Bought it to do one job, ended up using it on a couple of others I would never have thought to use it on. Cracking buy, a tool i never thought I needed, should have bought it years ago. 26 Aug 2015
Decent tool. Good points first. This router is robustly build for one so small. The motor seems to punch above it's weight. Lots of go for a 600w router. I suspect some clever electronics at work. It's been used nearly every working day for around 2 weeks now from straight out the box and hasn't presented any problems regarding it's ability to cut. Like our other Bosch blue tools, it's been registered for the 3 year warranty. Haven't yet ever needed to use it for any of them. A friend has recently been using the GKF600 as the router on his CNC cutting table. Works really well. Bad points. What appears a ScrewFix bargain is actually an incomplete kit. Missing from the ScrewFix GKF600 box are the tilt base, dust extraction base and round base. You can see the space for these in the case you get. Depth adjustment is fiddly and the micro adjust wheel is temperamental. All round this tool is worth buying. Using a palm router for trim work is so much easier than using a more heavy duty router. I bought the plunge base too but I'll review that separately. 22 Aug 2015
Ideal for small work. Great little router will cope with most things .It's easy to use and set up. 21 Aug 2015
Wee Router Great wee router. Used it for door hinges, dado rails, decorative edging etc. Easy to handle, not like trying to hold on to a chinook like big routers. 20 Aug 2015

Bits for 33000 rpm

Are there any bits for sale that are rated for the speed of this router? The titan bit kits for 1/4 collett only go to 24000.

Hi, thanks for your question. This router can be used for freehand work, although if working on something important we would always recommend using a guide or jig to minimise any chance of making mistakes or damaging the workpiece.

Answer:
Yes you can but you need very precise handling of the router. It simply depends on how steady your handling of the device is. As far as the device is concerned, this specific item will definitely help do it if you are up for a challenge.
hint - Get some number stencils to use as guide.

I bought this item late last week and it was exactly as shown in the picture. It also has a good quality spanner for the Colet. The Colet is also supplied with the device.

Answer:
Hi Phillip, this version includes the GKF600 tool itself with the standard rectangular footplate that's shown in all the images, plus a parallel guide, a 1/4" collet & nut and a spanner for loosening it, plus a moulded plastic storage case to keep everything in.

Hi, thanks for your question. The foot plate isn't exactly square, I've just measured one in our workshop so can confirm it's 9.0cm x 9.8cm which is approximately 3 1/2" by 3 7/8", hopefully that will be suitable for your needs.

Answer:
First get a stencil for the dimension you need. Then any router will do the job. If you can't get a stencil, you can still cut the circle. first draw the circle you need. make a slightly bigger circle around that and cut the outer circumference in a coarse manner using a plunge bit. Then use a flush trim bit to bring it to the size you need.

A diameter of 122 cm is large. So I would suggest you get a heavy duty full size plunge router instead of the palm version. You can use most of the plunge router brands for a flush cut also. For the diameter you need, it will be no problem.

Answer:
Hi Emile, to do this using the GKF600 you would need the separate plunge base attachment (Screwfix code 67321), or alternatively you could use any other router which already has a plunge base included. You would then need to either buy or make a circle cutting guide/jig with a 610mm radius, you could use this in conjunction with the plunge router in order to cut your 1220mm hole.
