Rated 5 out of 5 by from beaten daily this by far my favorite torch. I have three kicking about, but when it came to finding them in the havoc that is my van i just went and bought this one as a quick solution. Didnt think it would be any good but being cheap and getting me out of bother it was worth it. Now the van is clean its the only one i use !! comfortable to use, lights every time and is bearable when using it all day long pro or novice i just cant knock it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no use to a plumber! I'm really not one to leave bad reviews but I was so shocked to find you can't adjust the size of the flame! it's set! no good for me as a plumber, its not even set to a decent size! Having said this, if it did have the control it would be great! I've had a berzomatic torch before and it lasted years! Brilliantly made, just this one design fault has let it down!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use but no control Never even tried using a blow torch before let alone attached one to a gas canister. Attaching to the propane can also bought from Screwfix (the blue one) was ultra simple it simply screwed on and it was ready to go in about 12 seconds. The unit feels very well made and sturdy and turning it on was as easy as pressing a button and it lit first time and every time I hit the button. My only issues is that it's a bit pricey for what it is but it seems decent torches are pricey and I was put of the cheaper torches that Screwfix sells due to their bad reviews. My other issue is that there is no flame controls it's either on or not so at this price point it would have been nice to have. Managed to heat a bolt up to red glowing hot in about 5 seconds so it certainly does the business but a little more control as I said above would be nice but it terms of ease of use and no faffing around trying to attach the canister or get it working I am very pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot and quick Squeeze the trigger, instant flame, release and it stops. Squeeze again and it lights again, full heat, and over and over. Flame size cannot be controlled. The bottle thread is CGA600 (hope I've got that number right) so can be used on the Rothenberger (or any similar) gas bottles. The bottles self seal when the torch is removed. Ergonomic holding position (L or R hand) or can be latched for hands free. The instructions say not to be used for paint stripping. It does seem a bit hot for that and burns the surface if held in one place for more than a second. Also no flame spreader included which mat be needed for stripping. Good torch would recommend and would buy again.

Does this trigger come with the bottle of gas as it doesn't show it in the picture

No, just the torch. You need the blue or yellow bottle.

Can the bernzimatic gas torch be used to bend mild steel for sculptural projects? If so what diameter steel could it handle?

Asked by: Scul

Are map/pro gas bottles compatible with both Bernzomatic and Rothenberger torches.

I ask the question as I have a Bernzomatic auto ignighter, and bought a map/pro gas bottle on September offer £9.99 from the Workington store but the threads do not seem compatible. Cheers
Asked by: Steamy
Just had the same issue myself, bought the Berzomatic torch and a bottle of Rothenberger gas, spent 20 mins trying to screw it together with no success. I my anger liked all over the net to see if they would go together, couldn't find a thing. Left it five mins and tried again and together they went tried a bit of leak spray to check all was ok, fired it up all OK. To conclude the threads on the torch are a bit wonky, probably why its £30 cheaper than a Rothenberger but it will work with a Rothenberger bottle see picture :-)
