Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Easy to install, yet to find out if it performs thermally. Used it in my conservertory, the roll was significantly bigger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good coverage, sturdy Using this to line a loft I can only say that with two people it would have been a lot easier. Still the end result is good and the loft now has some decent insulation behind the tiles. I used 8mm staples to hold it to the roof joists and they did a good job - one roll did the top part of the roof (3 runs of 6.4m) with spare to do one of the eaves - second roll will leave a lot of spare.

Wrong units for thermal resistance

W/m²K is the unit of thermal conductivity, not resistance. Thermal resistance units are m²K/W. So is 1.5 actually the thermal resistance or the thermal conductivity? This is confusing because I don't know to look for a high figure or a low one.
Asked by: nophead
Looking elsewhere I think these are R values, so the units are wrong. Higher is better. W/m²K are the units for conductivity and those are U values, generally less than one. I.e. the reciprocal of R values. Screwfix please correct your Website.

can this be used for fixing direct to inside of roof felt between roof rafters?

Would this work as insulation for a plastic conservatory roof?

We have a plastic conservatory roof - if I use double sided tape to line the interior with this is it likely to make the conservatory warmer or will it just cause condensation problems?
Asked by: Chillypete
I've used it to insulate ceilings. The answer for a conservatory roof is "yes you can". In order to prevent condensation, I put in the recommended 25mm air gap between the sheet and ceiling. I used a few 2x2 pieces of wood and stuck it using evo stick to the ceiling 45cm apart. Use a lot of Evo Stick or something similar so it will have a strong adhesion. I then pinned the sheet to these batons. Since the roll is lightweight it is sufficient to have the standard 25 mm x 38 mm strips of wood and they are durable. I find it preventing the conservatory from heating up like crazy in summer quiet apart from making it warmer in winters. Good luck with fixing it.
