Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sealed After we moved into this house and I was doing some much-overdue decorating I found bleeding through wall paint round a window where something weird had happened (historically) to the underlying plaster and the surface was all bubbled. Most odd. Other products were ineffective, but I found this BIN at Screwfix and invested. Brilliant! It's more than a year on and there's no sign of any recurrence of the problem. Then a friend mentioned a stain on his ceiling, which kept coming through and a decorator had not been able to seal. He was desperate. One application of BIN and there's no sign of it weeks later. Brownie points galore. I can't praise it enough!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job well but wear PSE Good primer, but it's not very nice to work with. Not a problem, just make sure you wear gloves and goggles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good coverage and adherence used to cover previously stained wood. Good coverage and handy it dries quick but a bit too quick in warm environments. Time will tell if any stain leaches through.

I'd like to use this over tile as a primer. What kind of adhesion should I expect over ceramic tile? (semi-gloss tile with a little texture)? Do I need to do any special cleaning/sanding before application?

Answer:
Zinsser B-I-N Shellac Based Primer provides excellent adhesion to a ceramic tile, we recommend the tile is cleaned thoroughly,we recommend a good wash down with hot water/liquid detergent solution, rinse with warm water not detergent than when dry a good wipe over with methylated spirit to make sure the surface is spotless, remember to allow your grouting to dry thoroughly before painting.

Answer:
Yes Zinsser BIN will prime the old paint surface and allow you to apply an emulsion paint over the primer. You will need to remove the old peeling paint first.
