Bought one set, counter sink bit worked no problem, when I started to use plug cutter used little pressure and it skated across the wood so increased pressure by hardly anything and it snapped like a chicken's neck.
Changed them, tried in softwood first to warm it up, still had skating issue but did manage to make a plug but not clean and tidy at all, then I used in the hardwood again got 2 plugs, both rough again, and then it snapped again, so swapped for another make that use the other design and it sliced through it with ease.
Trend may be good at some things this is definetly not one them.

Brought these today to cut IPE decking. Was worried they might not work but unfounded. They worked great slicing through hardest wood you can buy. Plugs lovely tight fit fan tools so much cheaper that hidden fixings.

Well the smaller one certainly snapped on first use, so maybe it does have a fair title.
To be fair I was using it on solid oak and the larger one coped better.
A lot better than the last set i bought which i believe someone else called "really good cigarette lighters!"
The countersunk drill bits worked well and the fantastic man in screwfix changed them no problem so hopefully the new one won't suffer the same fate
