Tower Corrugated Conduit Black 20mm x 10m
Great, but murder to uncoil
I bought this to protect the external wiring to my pond. Functionally it performs perfectly. I bought a similar product from a well known hardware store. This one is noticeably better quality - and cheaper.
Problem is, it is supplied securely coiled, which is understandable, but getting it straighten out is the devils own job. It keeps wanting to return to the coiled position (with a vengeance), making threading the cable very difficult, nigh on impossible without dropping a weighted length of string through first, no easy task in itself, and pulling the cable past all the twists and turns.
If the manufacturers have any tips on how to deal with this aspect, it would be very useful to include a note of them with the packaging.

strong, flexible, great value
Purchased to protect cables running along chassis of Land Rover Defender. Conduit is not split type so no risk of water / dirt ingress. Good diameter to feed cables down. Conduit glands make very neat job. Strong wall thickness so would seem very durable.

I first used this product in 2015 and thought that for the price it was of resonable quality.
I purchased 30 metres of it in June 2016 and the quality is nowhere near that of the previous year. In one pack I purchased the tubing had a complete break about 3 metres into the length and a split at 7 metres. I did not bother returning it as I needed some shorter lengths and didn't have the time to go back to the trade counter.
Overall the material is quite brittle and the corrugations are often fused together causing reduced flexibilty. I would recommend using the product warm and not cold as I have found it is more likely to fracture when cold.
I was using it to protect CAT6 cables as they left overhead traywork and enter steel chasiss control panels through glands. It was adequate for this but not ideal it is unlikely they will get any disturbance in the future.
The fittings kit that was inlcuded with the conduit in 2015 but now has to be purchased seperately. I have found the fittings are not that good and the nuts on the glands do not have full threads which can be a problem to get tight when passing through a thicker material as the nut keeps slipping.
I won't use this product again.
