Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic tool Bought mine 3 days ago and it went faulty took it back to Screwfix and got great customer service with either a cash back or a new saw. I went for a new saw been chopping down conifers and it was doing a fantastic job going thru them like a knife thru butter would recommend this tool for the price you pay for it .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A big let down Bought this saw after reading numerous rave reviews and phrases such as 'like a knife through butter'. Used it to try to saw small tree branches but gave up and used a bow saw instead. You get what you pay for which is not much. Not very powerful, lots of vibrations and violent snags. Extremely disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good budget item Bought because my old saw is failing, this seems powerful enough (though a little heavy) and the supplied blade is OK for light jobs. But it also works - and is more efficient - with my previous blades. Blade change is easy. No frills, but very good for the price. Request to review arrived after two days, so "reliability" is a guess!

Is the blade that comes with is suitable for cutting 20 x 10 cm sleepers?

Asked by: Neil1984
Hello Neil1984, The blade supplied with this product allows a maximum of 115mm cut in wood. This product would be suitable providing you were to cut across the 10cm edge. Thank you for using Q&A. (LM).

I am thinking of buying this item. What general purpose blades should I purchase. Or would I be better buying just wood and just metal

Asked by: caramel245
Hello Caramel245, This product accepts blades with the standard bayonet fitting. It would be possible to use multi purpose blades on this tool however the types of blade will vary with the type of cut you are after. Thank you for using Q&A. (LM).

I need this to cut a 6 inch deep, 2mm gauge (that's the actual thickness of the metal) z purlin in situ.and space is tight. What is the effective length of the blade, are shorter blades available and what is the maximum depth of the unit? Thanks

Asked by: jimbo6
Hello jimbo6, The included blade is for wood cutting only (effective length 130mm) You can find a range of blades compatible with saw by searching 'recip saw blade' on our website, you can then filter them by length & material to cut using the filters on the left hand side of the page. The dimensions of the unit are 480 x 80 x 150mm (LxWxH) Thanks for using Q&A, KC

Would this cut through a scaffolding pole of about 3" diameter?

Asked by: Seagull
Hello Seagull, This product has a maximum cutting capacity of 15mm in steel. We highly doubt that this would be effective in cutting a scaffolding pole which is 3'' in diameter as the stroke length is 25mm which will not leave a substantial amount of room for the blade to make the cut. Thank you for using Q&A.
