Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great DIY product. Bought this at an offer price to do one job - window removal involving cutting through wood and frame fixings. Performed faultlessly using Erbauer demolition 200mm blades - still have 4 left out of 5. Tool is well built and rugged. Possibly not as refined as the more expensive brands but a great value tool for DIY use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Got it at the reduced price to cut up branches from a recent tree windfall. Took the advice of others and bought some better blades. Did the job very well, cutting up to 25cm diameter branches. It's a bit heavy and some vibration. Wouldn't use when accuracy needed but for heavy pruning, rough cuts it's excellent for the price.

I need this to cut a 6 inch deep, 2mm gauge (that's the actual thickness of the metal) z purlin in situ.and space is tight. What is the effective length of the blade, are shorter blades available and what is the maximum depth of the unit? Thanks

Asked by: jimbo6
Hello jimbo6, The included blade is for wood cutting only (effective length 130mm) You can find a range of blades compatible with saw by searching 'recip saw blade' on our website, you can then filter them by length & material to cut using the filters on the left hand side of the page. The dimensions of the unit are 480 x 80 x 150mm (LxWxH) Thanks for using Q&A, KC

Would this cut through a scaffolding pole of about 3" diameter?

Asked by: Seagull
Hello Seagull, This product has a maximum cutting capacity of 15mm in steel. We highly doubt that this would be effective in cutting a scaffolding pole which is 3'' in diameter as the stroke length is 25mm which will not leave a substantial amount of room for the blade to make the cut. Thank you for using Q&A.

Dewalt blades not compatible?

I bought this saw today, along with a set of Dewalt blades for £14.99. The Dewalt blades are not compatible, and keep on popping out of the saw, wheras the supplied blade holds firm. Please can you confirm what blades are compatible?
Asked by: andylb
Hello andylb. Reciprocating blades as a rule are compatible and I'm surprised you are having problems. It may well be that the blades are faulty and suggest that you return the products, (full return details are on our website. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.
