Major weaknesses This drill has 2 major weaknesses which I discovered when using the drill to put hole through Oak sleepers. Firstly, no reverse, which is not helpful when using Auger bits. Secondly and the biggest problem is that SDS chuck is not strong enough, which results in the bits being pulled out when trying to back the drill out of a tight hole, I.e. in thick hardwood. The drill will have to be returned. 29 Mar 2015
beast of a drill This is a beast just buy it if your in the trade like me 28 Mar 2015
For the money, cant go wrong So a 2 year warranty and a selection of bits makes this drill a no-brainer really. I can imagine it being overwhelmed if used on a daily basis but for the diy'er it is perfect. What more is there to say really. Ive used it to channel out walls for sockets as well as drilling into reinforced concrete to attach a bike rack in my garage. Its done them all with ease. Its noisy and unrefined but it does the job, and its cheap. If it breaks after 2 years I will just buy another. 26 Mar 2015
Titan sds drill I bought Titan angle grinder and very pleased with it. Then I bought more Titan brand and very pleased. But I am very disappointed with this drill. Chisel function keeps failing on this within three week of purchase, I have returned 2 of these drill with same fault and now trying next one up of same brand. Time will now tell me is Titan brand worth even a penny. 25 Mar 2015

Mechanical clutch

Can you confirm that the mechanical clutch releases when the bit gets stuck. Most common is when a core drill is used, it has to release quickly. Also if you forget to roto-stop and put chisel in this is dangerous without the clutch. My old silverline did not have this feature and I hurt my wrists so its a must for me now and should be a standard feature on any drill of this type.
Thanks

Answer:
this machine is capable of drilling with a maximum drill capacity of 30mm and would be suitable for the task that you suggest, and the chisel function will also be capable of breaking away the drilled brickwork. You may also consider using a Diamond Core Drill and arbor for the hole that you wish to make, this would require the drill to be set on rotary action only, but would ultimately leave a cleaner finish.

Answer:
Using the appropriate core drill SDS arbor and pilot drill this drill should be suitable for dry TCT and Diamond core cutting. It is important that the SDS hammer function is switched off, leaving just the rotation function.
