Needed to do a small bit of planing on softwood and needed to get tight into a corner. Unfortunately after a couple of strokes the blade was blunt and of no use. I think a cheese grater would be more effective. A poor DIY tool and overpriced for what it is.

Having used surforms for years in the workplace and knowing that the smaller ones have a tendency to to be a little flimsey with the constant issue of the blades clipping off (unlike the larger ones that have a screw operated slide clip to hold the blade firmly in) I was a bit resistant buying this one but as the price was so reasonable and I just wanted for occasional DIY use, I took the chance and was extremely pleased with the quality of this one which unusually does have a screw thread slide clip to hold the blade firm and to make the renewal of the blades as easy as a few turns of the twist catch. The plastic body is also far more robust than I had expected.

When that sheet of plasterboard you are trying to fit is that little to big, what you need is a Stanley Surform! It is easy to hold, scrapes away the edge of the plasterboard in a controllable fashion and quickly means you can then fit that stubborn sheet of board. Ideal.
