Stanley Surform Block Plane
great little tool
Great value surform, used it to ease 8 cupboard doors and it's still going strong. Found it worked well on softwood, mdf and plasterboard. Easy to change the blade too. I was tempted to get the slightly more expensive metal bodied one but this works fine.

Did the job fine.
Bought this because it fits in the hand nicely and to trim the edge of a tongue and groove wooden gate that I'd already put up at the side of my house. Edge is only half inch thick.
With only one use so far and not knowing when I'll need it again or how long it will last, I'm not rating it as exceptional. But it certainly did what I wanted.

Light, easy to use and small enough to get into the smallest of places in situ.

Handy little tool, did the job I needed it for. I already have the larger version, so knew what to expect. The handle is not the strongest and I would go for the metal version if I needed it long term for trade use, having said that I dropped it from a fair height onto concrete and it survived intact. The blades can rust, but still work fine, a few strokes on an odd offcut will stop any rust stains on your work.
