Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 star Great stuff and real piece of mind. This is the product where you have existing infestation and / or you want to prevent future infestation. 16 Jul 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Has this product changed I have a couple of cans of this and needed more... the can I purchased from screwfix has the correct name but has green banding not red as per the website picture. The product name seems to be the same but the product details show the composition is different and more to the point the can states that if used outdoors the wood must then be painted - useless for my purposes! the original cans I purchased also stated the treatment is suitable for dipping - no longer the case. This (new?) product seems to only be suitable for indoor use. 1 May 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok so far Bought this to protect some softwood sleepers that will be in constant contact with soil on at least one surface. Sika advised this product would be suitable in this application. I can confirm that it is low odour, easy to apply, and doesn't change the colour of the wood in any appreciable way. As to its protective properties time will be needed before it's possible to comment. 11 Apr 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Probably as good as anything I have sadly run out of creosote, after stocking up before it was banned. I tried 'creosote substitute', but it was useless, so have moved on to this. It is easy to apply, soaks into the wood well, and from the COSHH data sheet it appears to be reassuringly toxic, so I am hoping it will be effective. VERY expensive, though. 21 Oct 2015

Answer:
Yes the drier the timber the better the preservative is absorbed into it.
Also its best to ensure that timber to be treated is clean and free from bark. Paint or other surface coatings should be removed prior to application.

Answer:
Yes it will provide protection and make the posts last as long as possible. We would recommend that you apply 3 coats as generously as possible (at a rate of 1 litre of product per 3-4m2 of surface) and dip end grains for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Answer:
You could perhaps check out the Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener available at Screwfix, Product Code 63540 and see if that's suitable.

Answer:
Yes we would strongly recommend that the treated area is vacated during application and until it has fully dried. There is a Material Safety Data Sheet available to download from the Screwfix website which give more information.
