Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Rubbish Tried to use this for a temporary repair to a waste pipe with a damaged seal. Amalgamate? No chance, more chance of Arthur Scargill and Maggie Thatcher agreeing (you need to be a certain age to get that one). Although it appeared to be together ok didn't even slow down never mind stop a misaligned seal from leaking. Thought it might be me and working in a tricky location so tried surplus of roll on the bench on a tin can, came straight off, so binned the lot. If there was less than one star this would have got it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Toolbox Essential. Have used this product for couple of years. So many uses it , sealing leaks in radiator hose, garden hose, electrical joints, wrap round rope/cord to stop fraying when you cut it, hold tent poles together, temporary repair to fishing rod etc etc. Have a roll indoors, in the car, in the caravan. Can never have too much!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware I can never manage to peel the back off this tape. Check the Q&A's and screw fix are no help at all with instructions. A waste of money.

Leaking underwater pipe

I have two 1.5" pipes under water in a water fountain filled with silicone. Can I use the tape to close the ends and will it make it water tight and withstand the constant contact with water about 2m deep?

Washing machine waste pipe outlet leak

Please can you help me can you use this on a washing machine pipe outlet?
Asked by: Korsel
Hello Korsel, If there is a leak in the actual pipe then this product would be suitable, however if it is the seal itself that is leaking then this product would not be suitable. Thank you for using Q&A. (LM)

Will this tape seal a leaking propane suply pipe joint?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, We are unable to recommend this product for sealing gas pipes. The self amalgamating tape bonds with itself exceptionally, but does not adhere to other surfaces in the same way. Thanks for using Q&A
