Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good screw These are great discreet screws that drive well and counter sink themselves without pre drilling in soft wood. Ideal for panel work. Bought these as could not find in gold screw which I normally buy and were the cheapest at Screwfix . Not disappointed at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra These screws drive in easily and create a really tight joint without needing to pre-drill or mess about doing them up then undoing them and doing them up again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screw Tite Excellent value for money and yet to find a single screw with a badly machined head ... would highly recommend!

Are they rustproof, can the be used for plasterboard fixing? Are they left hand thread (the ones in the picture appear to be)?

Asked by: Basilpea
Hello Basilpea, Screw-Tite are not rust proof but they do have a coating which gives them corrosion protection. However, this is not sufficient for extended exterior use. Screw-Tite can be used for plasterboard fixing. A normal drywall screw in either black or zinc has inferior corrosion protection to Screw-Tite. In regards to the thread, they are not left hand. The image on the website looks like it has been uploaded as a mirror image which is why the screw appears to have a left hand thread.

Any good for screwing curtain rail brackets into UPVC window frames

Asked by: Matt1978
Good Afternoon, These can be used for screwing into PVC but we would recommend that you pre drill with a 2.5mm drill bit. Thanks

Is this a left hand threaded screw?

The pictured screw clearly screws in anti clockwise.. Is this because it really is a left hand thread, or did someone at screw fix flip the image horizontally before putting it on the web?
Asked by: Caius
Hello, no the screw is not a left hand thread. It looks like the image has been mirrored which is why it looks like it is a left hand thread. It is however, a normal threaded screw.

Hi Tony. If you measure the diameter of the hole in the hinge you will then know which diameter screw you will need to buy.

Can these screws be used in masonary without the need for a raw plug?

Asked by: NotoriousPOG
Hello, Screw-Tite can be used in concrete and brick without a plug but cannot be used in block without a plug. If you drill a hole 1mm smaller than the screw (in this case for a 4mm screw, use a 3mm drill). Make sure the hole is not oversized. The screw will then cut into the masonry for a fix.
