I've never had much success with screw extractors but I needed to remove a sheared bolt in a motorcycle frame. This tool worked perfectly. As people have said use the biggest extractor you can. It was a breeze despite being extremely tight. Recommended.

These are the sort of tool you probably don't use often and never think to buy - but once you've used them properly you always wish you had in your toolbox.
I've not really put these ones up to the full test but I've used similar ones very successfully and they can mean a 10 minute repair as opposed to chucking something out. Even if these aren't the best quality they are priced so reasonably you can afford to replace. A must for any small workshop.

Very low cost extractors, and they arent the strongest by any means. Fine to remove sheared bolt in blind holes, for example, provided that the bolt isnt too tight. Not as good as a pro grabit, but much cheaper. OK, but take care or the extractor can shear.

With a good pilot hole this might have worked on the Fridge hinge screw.
However even with a small pilot hole the screw was probably more tougher as the first three small extractors simply disintegrated :(
In the end used a tool (similar to Dremel) to cut a channel on the head of the screw and used a flat head to take it out.
Will give it another go next time with a good pilot hole.
