Roughneck Spiral Post-Hole Auger 6"
Used to dig six holes, 600mm deep, in rough ground full of roots and rubble - worked well and saved a great deal of time.
Also, as mentioned by other reveiwers, will save cash on postcrete!

Complete waste of money
Don't understand how there can be so many good reviews for this - maybe this tool used to be built to a better quality?
Actual product is now not as shown in the picture. Handle attachment is two butterfly bolts that are way too thin for the holes so the handle regularly comes loose.
The guide point is nowhere near what is shown in the picture - it's now a lot less pointy (the tube is just squashed flat and the corners cut off) and it's way off centre so you simply cannot get the tool to put a hole exactly where you need it.
Finally, the handle is nowhere near long enough so you can't dig a hole any deeper than a couple of feet, and you'll do your back in doing it.
Just twisting a trenching spade round and round in the hole worked better than this thing.
Not worth £7.50, let alone £75.

Hole in a flash
Had the post hole Auger a couple of weeks now, not used it a whole lot but the few times it has proved its worth (maybe not 75 quid though).
It took out clean holes in clay soils with a few small stones thrown in, it handled the small stones without a problem except it tended to try and go around them throwing the hole off target.
Larger stones were dislodged using an iron bar but the auger still came into its own by cleaning out the bottom of the hole without the need to scrabble around on hands and knees.
Overall a good piece of kit saving money on postcrete but in my view somewhat overpriced for a couple pieces of metal welded together.

good clean holes
I was initially slightly disappointed in the weight/apparent build of this, given the tasks ahead. I was wrong.
Wouldn't want it any heavier in use, and it 'just works'.
Worth trimming surface roots, even small ones, clear of the site if possible (and present) but a joy to use overall.
You will quickly get back the cost in postcrete costs alone!
