Rated 5 out of 5 by Bath plug Fitted to a new bath. Was a bit fiddly fitting on my own as you need to make sure the rubber seal underneath the bath is lined up perfect around the hole before screwing the top in (which also has a rubber seal). If the bottom is not lined up properly you will get a leak if you haven't used sealant. No sealant is required as long has the rubber seals are plum. Looks nice when fitted also. 8 Feb 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fab Looks good, robust, and did the job, fitted on a pressed steel bath. Good valve knob as that is the bit that could be abused. 30 Dec 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Looks good that's it. failed within a week. It may look good but the quality is rubbish. I now have to remove the bath panel again to get to the waste to remove it then go and buy a better one else where. There is a reason why this is cheap. 17 Dec 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product Had one of these fitted yesterday. 2mins to fit and pop up waste looks much better than having that old chain. would highly recommend. 9 Dec 2015

size across the top

My bath plug hole is 3 and 1/4" across at where it starts to descend, and standard size fittings leave a gap that while waterproof leaves a ring of water round the plug. What width is the fitting across the top?

Thamk you

Answer:
On the edge of the chrome control knob is an access hole for the fixing screw - Phillips no.2 if memory serves me correctly.

Instructions?

Just purchased one of these, but there were no instructions in the box. It's the first time I have fitted one and would appreciate some advice.
I can see there are rubber fittings that fit on the outside of the bath for the waste and the control. On the inside of the waste is a foam type pad, so this would seal the inside of the bath. There is no such seal on the inside of the control end, simply a plastic ring, which doesn't look as though it would give a water tight seal. Is it necessary to use silicon to make this water tight?
The flexible pipe seems very long and I don't see any way of shortening it.

Answer:
No need to seal the control knob on the inside of the bath - if the seal is sound on the outside then no leaks can occur. As for the overflow pipe, just thread if where you can and don't allow a downward loop to form as this could become a water trap and subsequently smell.

Answer:
The plug has a screw in the end of the shaft, allowing about 15mm of adjustment - a small knurled nut locks it in the required position.
