Pegler HU Bib Tap with Check Valve ½"
Not very impressed
Had this less than a year as an outside tap for garden.
it was OK to start with. Then it started leaking from the small screw that you cannot see on the picture. It is located next to the thread underside.
Had to tighten that up and the rubber seal did not work.
Now a year later it won't work at all. Another rubber seal has appeared partially in the valve by the inlet thread. That has jammed the tap.
Not impressed for an expensive tap.

Pegler is not what it used t be.
Poor design, drain hole at bottom of tap is sealed with a rubber o-ring held in place with a countersunk screw. Tighten the screw and the o-ring squeezes out!!
Not rocket science.

Not cheap but worth it
This tap is more than some others, but as it includes the required double check valve, it is no more than fitting a separate tap and separate valve, and quicker to install than separate items.
As for those reviewers which had problems in cold weather - ALL outside taps should be isolated and drained of water before freezing weather arrives. Leaving any outside tap full of water in the winter will damage it regardless of price.

expensive but worth it
More expensive than the other taps offered but when take into account the built in check valve it works out a lot cheaper considering you don't have to buy one and saves time and effort as you don't have to fit one.
A far superior tap and would highly recommend.
