Answer:
Hello Terry5.

The outside tap tube that goes through the wall is 15mm in diameter, so you would require at least a 16 to 20mm diameter masonry drill bit. for example: titan masonry drill bits 16 x 400mm (72338), titan masonry drill bits 20 x 400mm (88178).

Thank you for using Q and A.

We want to replace our pre-existing tap and hose. Our internal pipes are 1/2 inch but as a valve is already on the water pipe would the rest of this kit be suitable? Is it just the size of the cutter that matters? If not do you have another suitable kit?

Answer:
Hello cobwax,

The parts can be used without the cutter, but the elbow that attaches to the valve/cutter part has a 3/4" fitting. The hose then slides onto the other end of the elbow, which is 11.2mm diameter, and is secured with a jubilee clip. The fitting between the tap and hose is 1/2" BSP.

Hello Pottsie,

The self cutting tap clamp is designed to be used on 15mm copper pipe only. You would be unable to get a good seal on 1/2" pipe, sorry.

Answer:
Hello,

This product can deal with a working pressure of 1-5.5bar and a temperature range of 0-90°C, if your system is within this range then it should be suitable however we would recommend contacting a suitably qualified tradesperson for advice or installation.

Hope this helps.
