Rated 5 out of 5 by from No nonsense oak decking oil Product is great, soaks almost too quickly into dried old decking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No nonsense decking oil Applies very well with a decent brush and lasts for quite some time. You can see rain beads on the deck after application. Does what I want it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice to use but v. dark As other reviewers have mentioned this is an excellent product. It smells like Danish oil and is easy to apply with a garden sprayer or brush. As it's an oil it won't stain stainless steel screw heads or non-slip strips which a conventional stain would ruin. It avoids that 'painted' look. The tinted versions of this oil are not the colours you would expect. Oak is not oak but more a dark chocolate colour, more akin to creosote. It has very little red hue so the deck can look a bit lifeless. Good for obscuring a heavily weathered or stained deck but prepare yourself for the ultra dark brown/black finish. In conclusion: easy to use, effective product but inaccurate description as 'oak'

Answer:
Hello Chris130,

Provided the garden furniture has not been treated by anything else before application and is a suitable material, there shouldn't be any issues.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you for using Q and A.

Can Decking Sealer be applied on top on a Decking Oil in a Colour? For example Oak Decking Oil, also then at a later date can the Decking Oil be applied on top on Decking Sealer, when recoating for weather protection?

Answers

Answer:
Applying the decking oil first will add a level of water repellence to the decking meaning that when you try and apply the sealer it will 'roll off' of the decking oil. However given a long period of time you will be able to apply the sealer.
