Answer:
Hello. This will be waterproof to a degree but it is worth noting that is an interior varnish primarily. It is difficult to answer this question without knowing exactly your intended use. Hope that helps.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Not super sticky but plates don't slide on it, they stick a little before moving. Glossy books stick to it a little.

Any ideas why this might have happened and how to solve?

Answer:
I used this varnish to cover a newly purchased kitchen dining table to provide additional protection. After a relatively short period time I too found that the surface was becoming tacky, particularly around the edges of the table and I have put this down to the varnish absorbing moisture from the atmosphere and from handling. I only bought it after having read the positive reviews from other users. I feel disappointed that the table was messed up from using this varnish and I don't think it is a suitable varnish for use in areas where there will be higher levels of moisture and/ or handling of the coated surface. I wish that I had applied a quality polyurethane varnish rather than this acrylic varnish.

Answer:
Hello,

This product should not be producing such affects in normal conditions, if anything was to go wrong this would normally happen initially rather than after a period of time.

The issues you are experiencing could have been caused over-exposure to heat through material contact or focused sunlight or some other form of damage to the surface, possibly by a cleaning product.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Answer:
Hello djjes,

I have discussed this with our supplier who has advised that the varnish is indeed quite milky and then dries clear, and that it will be touch dry in 4-6 hours (dependant on application, surface & environment)
