Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use and apply Used on an old porch which had a couple of different levels due to previous work, different materials and a few cracks. Was a bit daunted at doing this job, but was surprised that the compound is that easy to prepare and use. Once it was all poured onto the surface, it only took literally five minutes to finish it off in the corners, and then left it overnight to dry out. The final job was using the No Nonsense Trade Floor Paint to give it a nice finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Levelling Compound......... I read several reviews on here before settling on the No-nonsense levelling compound. I have a 7.5m x 3m garage base to cover. It was laid quite a few years ago by the previous occupants and the top was uneven, sloping, and had exposed aggregate from the concrete. I wanted a flat level floor and I had worked out around 10-12 buckets should do it. However..... The tip to have a 2nd person handy was definitely necessary for this size of job. The buckets supplied are straightforward with a water mark to fill to, add the powder and mix. I found that using a little more water than stated made it flow easier. Around 5-10mm above the 15kg water mark worked better but I didn't try more. Mixing to a smooth finish is necessary and even using a paddle you must get to all parts of the bucket. The next bit is probably my ignorance but I had assumed that as it flows well onto the floor it would pretty much find its own level, and therefore sorting out my sloping floor would be easy - wrong! It sticks to the floor so well that if you pour the mixture over a part of the floor not needing much, you will have to move the mix fairly quickly or it will stay put. Therefore if you have a sloping floor, I would put some sort of level indicator into or on the floor. There cannot be a gap between pours of more than a minute or two as the join becomes difficult to work, sticking to whatever you use; even a float. Keep the float wet if using one. This meant that as I worked along the garage floor, the line of drying mix was getting longer. I couldn't think of a way around this, so with the wife attempting(!) to mix while I poured etc, we continued for a total of 16 buckets (yes, we needed more!) Best to add around 1 to 1.5 of the packets before using a paddle as it sloshes everywhere otherwise. Because of the slope I was hoping for around 25-35mm depth across one side of the 3m garage and 5mm at the other side. In practice I needed to have a system for levelling and so I did not get rid of the slope. I do have a much better floor even with the odd few bubbles. I could not find a spiked roller anywhere and used a garden leaf rake. It does get rid of most bubbles but not all. Overall, I can see where I went wrong, and a larger job such as this should not be underestimated. I would definitely use this on smaller jobs with confidence, but really think about doing a larger area twice. Make sure you have everything to hand before starting, especially enough mix, water supply, tools and any level indicators you need. For larger jobs, a long levelling tool is a must in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Floor Leveller This is good stuff, used 2 tubs to level the floor for a porch before tiling does the job drys quickly, very easy to use, but doesn't go as far as you think when you see the size of the tub, make sure you get enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self Levelling Excellent stuff, used three tubs for a kitchen floor before vinyl is laid. Useful guide on side of bucket for water required. Mixes easily and flows well.

Hello Champ001,

Yes it can be used on uneven floors, however be aware cracks or gaps in the floorboards may require more compound to level it.

It is best to contact suitably qualified tradesperson should you require further installation information.

Thank you for using Q and A.
