Rated 1 out of 5 by from Toy box, not weatherproof Bought this to store rarely used emergency key. Later, decided to dump it because : 1) eSure insurance do not regard it as compliant because it is not 'police approved'. 2) the door rattles when fully locked, indicating that it can be prised open without too much trouble 3) it is not weatherproof, even when not directly exposed, so rarely used key inside will rust. Complete waste of money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Re assuringly heavy and solid Took a while to separate from the packing. You have to cut through plastic ties that are hidden under the sticky label. Comes with four screws but no raw plugs. The screws are only an inch long which seem a bit short to me and I may upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Key Safe this had been bought for my 85 year old mum, we have careers going in her home 3 times a day, social services arranged for a key safe to be fitted within two months some one tried to break into it, the lock as almost compromised due to the poor construction. this product is sturdy built very difficult to get a tool into break it open I feel this was a value for money purchase

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great with caveat We took the first one back because my wife managed to get it to lock without knowing what the combination was after having changed the combination. This was no fault of hers but due to a faulty lever inside the box that jammed. We now have a new box (a free swap, thank you ScrewFix!) and it's properly mounted and working brilliantly. It's a good size with easy to read numerical dials. Very pleased, overall.

eSure said it was not compliant. Only 'police approved' key safes are.

To set your own combination please follow these steps: 1. Open the compartment door. 2. Push the reset lever left and down. The lever remains in this position 3. Rotate dials to your desired combination 4. Push the reset lever, up and right, back to the original position 5. Close the key storage compartment door 6. Scramble the combination dials to lock the door and conceal your combination 7. Close the shutter door. If you continue to have trouble, please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-800-464-2088.

Do you have to mix up the combination before the safe will close again - so the correct combination is not showing when you close the safe ?

Asked by: PJohnson
The door should be closed while the correct combination is set. After the door is closed, the dials should be scrambled to lock the box and conceal the correct combination.
