Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective and Noisy It works, it extracts air, but hardly what you want in what's meant to be a peaceful room. It sounds industrial, both inside the room and outside in the yard where it extracts to. A grating, tinny, electrical whirring sound. I will replace with a quieter model when I can afford to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quite loud I bought this wlas a replacement for an old fan that had started to scream on startup. It did the job because the fixing holes and electrical connections were in exactly the same places as the old ones making it a five minute job to install. Works ok but it is pretty noisy. Seems louder than the old one.

Can this fan be wired into the light switch, and is it complete with all I would need?

Asked by: jabes137
Hi, A timer fan, requires a permanent live, permanent neutral and a switched live connection. The light switch would provide the switched live connection. The second part of your question is not specific, however you would require a wall liner and a external grille. Hope this helps. Regards

I've got a 16w fan would it make a difference putting in a 20w fan

Asked by: alkybear
Hello As long as they are both 100mm and you fit like for like with regards to wires. If you have two wires you can fit a pull cord or basic model, if three wires you can fit a timer model Regards

Swapping fans...

Currently I have a manrose bathroom extractor fan with timer overlap that has stopped working after 20 years... would this be a suitable replacement.. ? My current manrose just says 12volts on the front. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: doublexpresso
Hello, It appears you have a low voltage (12V SELV) fan used in conjunction with a timer transformer. I would recommend replacing your current Fan with another Low Voltage Fan. A 220-240V Fan will not run on a 12V supply.

Hi, It depends on the number of cables you have available. This fan requires a 3 core connection (switched live, permanent live and neutral) for it to operate.
