Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic fan that does the job Easy to fit. It was used to replace a 12 year old fan that had died. The fixing holes lined up so a 5 min job. Only issue was the instructions showed the whole range and the timer on some went the other way . So read them! I had to readjust from 30 min to 1 min. Otherwise excellent item.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from cheap - but not long lived This replaced a fan of the exact same make and model, which had burned its timer PCB after not quite 7 years occasional use. Because it was the same it fitted really easily without reference to the instructions....... just as well really, as the instructions for the timer were the exact opposite of what was correct and it was not possible to set the timer to even close to a precise time as the setting was vague. Otherwise a good bit of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant fan, easy to fit Brilliant bathroom extractor fan, easy to fit, great value for money, works well and quietly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and pleasing to the eye This was to replace a 20 year old fan (no comparison really). The 40db sound level is low. It's lower than the sound on a quiet street and doesn't sound bad at all. This does require the standard live, switched live and neutral connection. Be aware that the cable access point is at the bottom of the fan so make sure you can route the cable from the bottom before buying (and not making any extra holes to ensure it fits).

Hi,

It depends on the number of cables you have available. This fan requires a 3 core connection (switched live, permanent live and neutral) for it to operate.

Swapping fans...

Currently I have a manrose bathroom extractor fan with timer overlap that has stopped working after 20 years... would this be a suitable replacement.. ?
My current manrose just says 12volts on the front.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
Hello,

It appears you have a low voltage (12V SELV) fan used in conjunction with a timer transformer. I would recommend replacing your current Fan with another Low Voltage Fan. A 220-240V Fan will not run on a 12V supply.

Wires to old (now dead) fan are blue red and yellow, so am thinking this would be a suitable replacement for my bathroom. Is that right?

Hi,
A timer fan requires a 3 wire connection. Permanent Live and Neutral, and a switch live.
