Rated 5 out of 5 by The way to go Bought a few months ago to replace my DeWalt one which work bought me some years ago.Seems to have more grunt than others I've used, nice feature is the overload cutout, stops you damaging tool or battery.Only given it 4 out of 5 for reliability as I haven't had it long enough for a decent test,in my job you can use a certain tool for a couple of weeks solid then not need it for a month or so.One thing I would say with cordless grinders is to use the Inox cutting discs (1mm thick) they are much easier on the machine and therefore the battery lasts longer,I,m from an age before cordless,so was a bit sceptical about how good the stuff was, however I'm now using more and more of it and the 110v gear is staying in the shed. 6 Sep 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by versatile grinder i bought this grinder as a back up for my other 110 volt grinder.needless to say this is the one i use most. being a plumber it has lots of uses cutting soil pipes and stripping out to name a few. it is light and easy to use however it does eat batteries especially the 3ah will need to invest in either a 4ah or even a 5ah that being the case however it is well worth the price. 19 Aug 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Being a plumber this tool has many uses for me. Wasn't sure to start with whether it was worth the money. After buying it I now know it's worth every penny. Been using it a lot on 1st fix to chase walls and to cut 4 inch soil pipe for the soil and vent stacks. It has made my life so much easier. However if you do buy one you really need 2+ available batteries as if you are using it none stop it does get though them quickly. Hope This has helped you decisions 25 May 2016

Answer:
This unit requires a Makita LXT battery, either a 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah(19371) or 5.0Ah(1405F) version would suit, these batteries also require an LXT charger, best option would be to purchase a drill that has both and then add the grinder to form the beginning of a kit that can be expanded.
