Rated 5 out of 5 by Sturdy and versatile. Got this platform to do hedges. Works a treat. Very safe and stable yet light enough to move about with ease. Should have bought this years ago! :-/ 13 Jun 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Impressed Initial thought was it's smaller than I expected but having used it in platform mode for hedge cutting have been very happy. 1st weekend of use and it feels surprisingly rigid. The safety bar is great, place that side to the hedge and you really feel you lean against it without fear of toppling into the hedge! The surface of the platform gave good grip. Did think I'd need it to go higher than the 97cm safety limit advised and I did try the platform on the next rung up, it does just fit. However it rather makes the safety bar more of a trip hazard, it was less rigid and I just didn't need the extra reach after all. Not being too big or heavy made it easier to move than a bigger one I borrowed before but still meant a good section of hedge done before having to move. Instructions are pretty sparse but with some thought plus some trial and error it's been fine. Written just in English so no excess pages which makes a change. Not used it in ladder modes but I bought it as a platform and if by any chance it vanished I'd buy the same again to replace it. NB The "extension" ladder set up gives only one length, with 2 rungs overlapped as per sketch. Not so much 2.27m "Maximum" as "Always". If you need a ladder you can vary the length of then this isn't for you. Think of it as 2.27m fixed length ladder that comes in 2 halves for ease of transport! 12 Jun 2016

I know it says maximum safe working height 0.97m, but can the platform be mounted on the upper rungs to provide a much higher working area?

Answer:
You can but it's a tight fit as the platform's hooks foul a bit on the hooks on the top 2 rungs on one of the uprights. It works on mine, just, but slight production variation might mean you can't do it on all units.
Also the safety bar adds a lot to the rigidity in platform mode so when it's closer to the platform height things get more wobbly as the bracing effect is less.
So yes, maybe, if you want to risk it.
