Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yellow in 12 months This paint has turned yellow after being applied just over 12 months ago. So it looks like I have 10 more doors to paint once I find one that doesn't yellow. I read the reviews before but they default to highest rating!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 6 months on. Used this on a fire damaged flat with wood washed down. Did the job, good coverage and no smell of smoke any longer. Six months on I am just repainting before moving in. The paint is now beginning to show slight signs of yellowing. but I would have expected that anyway from a solvent based paint. Overall, I am pleased with the product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yellow in 2-3 months! Goes on well but in 2-3 months its very yellow indeed! I painted three rooms with this stuff. It's a total waste of money, time and effort! AVOID

Is this paint water based?

Asked by: Nigeldop
Hi there! Sorry this isn't water based. The Quick Drying Gloss which can be used on trim is water-based if that helps.

Is satinwood best to use when pregnant?

Is satinwood best to use when pregnant due to the fumes?
Asked by: Amanda95
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is a solvent based product. Therefore during it's drying and curing time it will give off a strong smell. If you wish to use a low odour product in a satin finish, I would recommend using the Leyland Trade Fast Drying Satin. Thanks

Hi, is this paint or undercout ? Can I use as undercout or just as paint please explain.

Asked by: Amin11xx
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is a topcoat and dries to a mid sheen finish. However, this product is known as being 'self-undercoating' and can therefore be applied to previously painted wooden substrates without the need for an undercoat. If painting new timber apply a suitable wood primer first, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Previously painted substrates ensure the surface is thoroughly sanded and cleaned, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Thanks

Can I paint this on top of skirting board that was previously painted with a water based satin paint?

Asked by: Alexkx3
Hello Alexkx3. The Leyland Trade Satin is a 'self-undercoating' paint, so provided the woodwork is cleaned down and sanded this will be fine to apply. Thanks

Which primer is recommended on bare wood oil based or water based ( new internal doors ). Preferably one stocked by screw fix

Asked by: Mark123456789
Hi There! Oil based or water based are both fine - Leyland Acrylic Primer Undercoat would do the job. It's quick drying, low odour and easy to use. You can use Oil or Water based paints over the top too. Good luck with the doors!

Gloss for exterior use

White
Asked by: Bazzabzip
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is not formulated to be used externally. If you would like a satin finish, I would recommend using Leyland Trade Fast Drying Satin, combined with Leyland Trade Fast Drying Undercoat. If you would like a gloss finish, the Leyland Trade High Gloss can be used externally. Thanks
