Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed After reading the reviews I thought it was just what I wanted. Very, Very disappointed. Did not cover well and was watery after extensive mixing. Might have been a bad batch but I will be wary of Leyland paint in the future. Hate writing bad reviews but this paint deserves it. 11 Sep 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very yellow. Stick with dulux I used this as a client supplied it but straight away i could see it was so yellow compared to my normal Dulux satinwood (oil based) I normally use. After I should my client the difference they went out and changed it. 3 Sep 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Goes yellow quickly! I bought this to paint all the stairs and landing areas of a 3 storey house. Took me a few weekends to prepare the woodwork and then apply this satinwood. It went on great, very easy to apply and a great finish when dry. However, just a few weeks after applying it, the 'brilliant white' paint started to yellow. Now when I look at it adjacent to previously painted surfaces (where water based was used) it's a distinct yellow and I am now going to have to repaint the whole lot! Don't waste your money on this 3 Sep 2016

Answer:
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is a topcoat and dries to a mid sheen finish. However, this product is known as being 'self-undercoating' and can therefore be applied to previously painted wooden substrates without the need for an undercoat. If painting new timber apply a suitable wood primer first, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Previously painted substrates ensure the surface is thoroughly sanded and cleaned, followed by 2 coats of Satinwood. Thanks

Hi
There is a range of Leyland Primers you can use for all sort of different surfaces, however if you've primed already it will be fine to paint over with Leyland Trade Satinwood.

Answer:
Hello Rofferton. as you wanting to apply a mid sheen paint over a high sheen paint, I would recommend using an undercoat prior to using the satin. Undercoats are designed to adhere properly to previously painted surfaces, further promoting adhesion for subsequently applied topcoats. Thanks

Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is not formulated to be used externally. If you would like a satin finish, I would recommend using Leyland Trade Fast Drying Satin, combined with Leyland Trade Fast Drying Undercoat. If you would like a gloss finish, the Leyland Trade High Gloss can be used externally. Thanks

Answer:
Hello. The Leyland Trade Satinwood is a solvent based product. Therefore during it's drying and curing time it will give off a strong smell. If you wish to use a low odour product in a satin finish, I would recommend using the Leyland Trade Fast Drying Satin. Thanks
