Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant coverage Recommended by a professional to use this and it was worth it. 2 coats from bare plaster to finished article. Slightly powdery to touch when dry but worth it for the coverage. Would have liked a slightly smaller (lighter) tub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save yourself lots of time This paint provides pretty amazing coverage, even of bare plaster and raw wood. By the time it dries, it's absolutely solid white. Great quality paint that will do the job in one coat. Worth the money for the savings on time and effort alone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This excellent paint was highly recommended and has proved to be worth the recommendation. I have used it to cover acres of new plaster and now wouldn't use any other. Super value for money too. I will definitely be using this a lot.

I need an breathable emulsion which can be applied to bare plaster and previously painted wall

Asked by: Painthappy
Hello Painthappy. They Super Leytex is a breatheable emulsion so is suitable for both uses. However please note that this product is not designed to be durable - it will mark and scuff very easily. Thanks

Spraypain gun

Can I use this paint in a spray paint device like a WallPerfect 565
Asked by: Mojo123
I personally use an airless sprayer which can handle this paint straight from the bucket. Your WP565 will be able to spray it but it will probably need thinning down with water for the paint to flow and atomize properly. I cant say exactly how much but your WP565 will have a guide (prob online somewhere) as to the perfect viscosity.

Are there any paint professionals out there, that use Leyland emulsion, i normally only use Dulux emulsions and was wondering how they compare.

Asked by: Yanvan
Hello Yanvan. The Leyland Trade Super Leytex Matt Paint is known as a 'contract' emulsion. Formulated for new plaster, it is a highly breatheable product, it is also known as a high opacity paint, as it needs to be able to cover fresh plaster in as few coats as possible. As a contract paint, I would not recommend this product as a long term decorative finish. it's primary use is for over decoration of fresh plaster that has not fully dried, therefore it is not particularly durable. if you have plaster that has fully dried, I would recommend using Leyland Trade Vinyl Matt Emulsion. this is classed as a 'wipeable' product, therefore you will be able to clean down mild stains gently with a damp cloth. Thanks

Mist coating on new plaster.

If this is being purely used as a first coat on new plaster - do you need 1 coat or 2? Why would you need 2 coats if all you wish to do is seal the plaster. Also does it need watering down?
Asked by: MrMo
Hello. 1 coat should be adequate for new plaster - thin with up to 10% clean water. People may apply 2 coats to apply a temporary decorative solution to new work. for new plaster this would allow moisture to pass through the coating. However we would only recommend this as a short term solution, as this product is not wipeable. If the plaster is fully dry we would recommend thinning the 1st coat with up to 10% clean water with the desired coating.
