Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little buy. Got these lights on offer. I wanted to install them around the head board on the bed as a night time lamp to save space. They give off a nice light for night time, even my partner was happy with the result.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good end result but ....... I am definitely pleased with the end result, the lights look good and professional. The cabling is a major challenge. Each individual light has 2.5 metres of cable which has to sit behind the plinth. These then plug into a unit which has a further 5 metres of cable to the mains. I decided it would be better to cable clip as much as possible to the back of the plinth to make it easier in case the plinths need to come out. If you are doing a long run (I spread the 10 lights across 5 metres of plinth which was about right, you have to position the cable unit centrally otherwise the cables will not reach. Some way to daisy chain the lights or shorten some of the cables would have been better.

Can you cut plug off and hardwire these

Asked by: Whisker
Hello. Please see the following extract from the manufacturers instructions: 'Information - This system operates at Safety Extra Low Voltage (12V). It must not be earthed Never connect the light directly to the mains without using this plug transformer'. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A. MH

Can you recommend a PIR switch that will work with these lights.

Have tried using the LAP Recessed Standalone PIR but this doesnt work properly. Either get flashing lights or no light whatever the setting.

Is it OK/Legal for a Diyer to fit these?

Just wondered if its ok to instal these myself, or would I have to get a electrician to issue a Minor works certificate? I'm not sure if its needed when the transformer is just plugged into a electrical wall socket? Thanks, Dave
Asked by: DIYDave19
Hello DIYDave19, The instruction manual for these lights state 'If you are in any doubt about installing this product, consult a qualified electrician.' Meaning if you are competent enough to fit them yourself you are able to do so but please contact a tradesperson should you have any problems with installation. Thank you for using Q & A.

Can you use less than 10 lights?

Asked by: Cloppa
The manual suggests they are 12V lights (so should be fine even if not all plugged in) and also states, "Connect each LED light to the connecting box by removing the rubber plugs and inserting the lead into the sockets. Insert the power lead into the first socket as shown in Fig.1. Any unused sockets must be fitted with a rubber plug to prevent moisture ingress". That suggests it is OK with unused sockets.
